Near the Colosseum so it was an easy walk! I got pork chops, LAME! But the Spaghetti Bolognese was yummy!! Ok for a quick bite if you're starving, but i wouldn't come here again!

We were starving after walking back through the Forum to the Colosseum. So starving that I did not consult my trusty Yelp (or any other review site). We did the dreaded thing of all Yelpers - and just walked into a restaurant blind. No reviews no photo browsing.
The outside patio was packed of tourists. we would've sat outside, but it was just too smokey out there. So we came inside, where there was literally only one other table. It seems that the A team of the wait staff, pretty much stay outside, leaving the insiders out to dry. We were finally tended to, made our order, brought wine. Then about 10 minutes later the food came out. Ok that's great- we were starving. The food was not bad, but not great. Of course we ate every bite and you know how they say pizza is pizza, this was pretty good. The ravioli was meh. The veggie plate was ok, nothing special. We had no more luck trying to order a second glass of wine, or ask for extra sauce anything else as everyone else was outside. So we finished our food and hunted down another waitress to ask for our check. Paid and left.
I'd advise to keep walking a bit down the street and find another spot. -

Welcome. I would like to preface this review by stating that my roommates and I were extremely excited to taste this meal that was marketed as an authentic home-made Italian experience which, ubfortunately, this was simply not the case.
To start, the atrocious antipasti. The caprese was comprised of unripe tomatoes and more liquid than there was mozzarella. Additionally, the calamari and shrimp fritta was not even properly cleaned and tasted of rubber bands.
The meat in the bolognese seemed as though it were previously cooked hamburger torn into colossal chunks. The tomato sauce had no flavor other than sugar. It was watery and unpleasant. The vegetable soup was simply unbearable and worse than a canned version- "dirty water filled with mushy vegetables" as described by my roommate.
The two kinds of risotto that was unfortunately ordered, came simply looking like sushi rice in a bowl. One order has seafood, that was stringy and mushy, probably previously frozen, and mushrooms that were clearly dehydrated. Although these dishes may have been the best of the bunch, the only way they were edible were after salt and butter were poured over them. Unsure if this is a singular opinion, but when we order take out, we expect to not have to add ingredients to make it edible.
Pasta carbonara, a Roman specialty, unfortunately missed the mark of quality and tradition by far. Scrambled eggs consistency, a stark lack of pancetta or guanciale, and overcooked, obviously boxed noodles made the dish almost inedible. I know in my heart of hearts that I could personally make a better dish by myself with leftovers in my fridge.
Would we recommend this establishment you ask? Well, if you desire to experience extreme digestive discomfort, then be my guess. -

Warm welcoming staff. Great crepes and meat tray. We were here for a snack prior to hitting the Colosseum and this was perfect. All the other food looked great as well. We had Italian IPA beer to go along with our food.

Quaint place near the Forum and Coliseum. Had a delightful lunch here with the family. Prices were reasonable and the decor was interesting. My wife had a pizza (large portion) I had the Italian veal (with prosciutto and sage). While the place isn't fancy, after walking through the Coliseum in the rain, it was a warm and pleasant place to warm up and dry off. The service was great and the wait staff were smiling and helpful. Would go again if I was in the neighborhood.
